Painting for Francine

Francine had so much liked the art piece I did for Giap called " Lueur d'Espoir" that she asked me to do a similar one for her. This of course was impossible. Artists are never able to redo the same art work.

This is what actually came out. Even though it is quiet different from Giap's Painting, I really felt in love with this painting especially in the evening when the lights are on .

Francine was so happy for this painting that she's taking back to Belgium.

The Beauty of Rwanda

Couché de Soleil sur un des lacs du Rwanda

There is no word that can describe the beauty of this country, Rwanda.
I really have the impression that as Rwandans say, that this land is the sleeping place of God.

The hills, the greenery, the lanscape, the smiles of these brave people.
No wonder it is also described as the land of Thousand Hills and Thousand Smiles

One of the Emotional Moments

"Umogore" the Rwandan Woman
I have developped so much sentimental affection and attachment to this particular painting that I had to go through difficult emotional moment to let it go.

This paintaing, titled "Umugore" meaning the Rwanda Woman was bought by an Italian couple who has just moved to Rwanda.
They were so touched by this sentiment that they had allowed me to come and visit Umugore in their house anytime I feel like.

I never knew that I will find it so difficult to let some of my art pieces leave.

Wish I could again the same for myself.....but though I treid, it is impossible for me to redo the same peace... I guess that's why I'm an artist. Every piece is so unique nd tells different stories.

But I'm really sad to have let go this....Umogore
